Note: In May 2026 a big change occurred in how Hulu gift cards are redeemed. Please study the instructions below carefully.

We would also like to point out that subscriptions which have expired can currently no longer be reactivated with a gift card on the same email address. To activate a subscription, a new Hulu account must be created using a different email address than before.

In this context, we would like to mention the “plus” trick, which most email providers support. This involves adding, for example, the word “hulu” to your email address without needing to create a completely new email account.

Example: If the email address you own and previously used with Hulu is katrin@gmail.com, then instead of creating a new email address, you can enter katrin+hulu@gmail.com (for example) when registering a new Hulu account. The plus email address will still forward to your original email address.

If you are unsure whether your email provider supports this feature, you can test it by sending yourself an email to the modified address with the added plus sign. Most major email providers such as Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, and others support plus addressing.

Redeeming a Hulu gift card

1. Open the link secure.hulu.com/commerce/gift. This should take you to the MyDisney login page.
2. If you already have a Hulu account, you can safely log in here. However, if you need to create a new account, enter the email address you want to use here. On the next page, you will then enter a password, your name, date of birth, and gender to continue.
3. You should now see a page asking for a gift code and ZIP code. Please enter the Hulu gift code and a ZIP code. We recommend using ZIP code 30309. Please write this down somewhere, as Hulu will now ask for the ZIP code every time a code is redeemed. Click Check Value and then confirm on the next page that you want to redeem the code.
4. You can now choose the subscription plan you want. We recommend the Hulu and Disney bundle since it is only $1 more expensive than Hulu without Disney. Please note that if you want an ad-free subscription, you can confirm this on the following page under Upgrade to Premium. Then click Agree & Subscribe to confirm.
5. Once this is completed, your subscription should be ready to use.
